Living close to Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for over 30 years Kathleen is continually inspired by an intimate relationship with a dramatic nature: its’ severity and beauty, its’ abstract forms and concepts and it’s natural complexities. Kathleen studied undergraduate fine arts at San Diego State University and the University of Washington. She earned her Master of Arts degree at Northern Michigan University. Teaching workshops, being a juror, and lecturing takes Kathleen across the country, while her travels around the world continue to enrich and inspire her work. Kathleen is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society (NWS), International Society of Experimental Artists (ISEA) – Master Status, and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA) – Master Status. She has been invited and juried into many top national and regional exhibitions. Kathleen's unique vision and innovative approach to water media painting has made her an artist sought after for inclusion in several books and publications.
